Our Offices

The Law Office of Michael D. Sheehan was established in 2001.  Before opening his practice, Mr. Sheehan handled criminal and traffic cases as an associate in another office in 1999-2000.

Mr. Sheehan limits his practice to traffic matters to insure that his clients receive the time, effort and expertise that they deserve.

In every case, Mr. Sheehan strives to protect the driving records and licenses of his clients.

Attorney Mike Sheehan devotes his practice exclusively to traffic matters.  He has lived in Washington State since 1977.  He is a graduate of both Whitman College and Seattle University School of Law.  Mr. Sheehan passed the Washington State Bar Exam in 1997 and later established the Law Office of Michael D. Sheehan.  Since that time, he has appeared in more than 50 courts of law statewide.  As a result, Mr. Sheehan has established good working relationships with the judges and prosecutors who will decide the outcome of your case.

Courts

Mr. Sheehan regularly appears in courts in Clark, Cowlitz, Grant, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Lewis, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston and Whatcom counties.  If you’ve received a ticket in a different county, please call and Mr. Sheehan will refer you to an attorney who can help. Similarly, if you need help with a non-traffic matter, Mr. Sheehan can refer you to other attorneys.

Mr. Sheehan’s Success Rate

Many clients have asked: “What percentage of tickets handled by Mr. Sheehan get dismissed?”  Unfortunately, Mr. Sheehan is prohibited from answering this question by the Washington State Bar Association (“WSBA”), which licenses and regulates attorneys.  The WSBA is concerned that an attorney might mislead potential clients by answering this question.  Clients should keep in mind that each case is different.  At the same time, clients are entitled to know that Mr. Sheehan keeps (and has always kept) the vast majority of infractions he handles from appearing on his clients’ driving records.  Mr. Sheehan accomplishes this through a variety of methods (please visit the “F.A.Q.” section of this site for details).

Refunds

The attorney fee is non-refundable once Mr. Sheehan has appeared in court on your behalf.  However, Mr. Sheehan will refund your attorney fee should you no longer desire his services prior to your first court date.

Coverage of Hearings

At times Mr. Sheehan must rely upon other attorneys to appear in court on his behalf.  This occurs when Mr. Sheehan is scheduled to appear in two or more courts at the same time (and the courts will not agree to reschedule the hearings).  When this occurs, Mr. Sheehan uses only traffic attorneys that he knows and trusts.  Furthermore, Mr. Sheehan prepares every case himself, to insure that every case is handled appropriately in court.
